Amanda Brugel

Pointe Claire, a quiet area situated in The West Island of Montreal is what you might call a "sleepy" location. This part of Montreal is known as the West Island has a lot of different communities. Many who've never been aware of it frequently think it is an island that is west-facing. Many times, it is credited as being the place of birth for Amanda Brugel but while that may be true, her time there was not long. Brugel was raised in Courtice close to Oshawa in Ontario. The first goal she had was to become a dancer, however a rapid growth rate led to her growing beyond her dance partners. In an article in the Toronto Star she admitted In heels I'm 6 feet 1 inch. When I reached the height of all my male partners, I stopped. Numerous former dancers choose to become actors. For Brugel it was because of the advice of her drama teacher at high school that led her to the path she needed. It was the teacher who recommended she go after a role in the school's annual production. After a few auditions her options, she was eventually the main character for Anne of Green Gables. It led to her receiving an Fine Arts Talent Scholarship from York University. In 2000 she earned her BA in Fine Arts at York University. Since then, she's appeared involved in more than 60 shows, large and small. Most notable was the time she was cast as Rita on The Handmaid's Tale. Brugel was the sole Canadian actress in Season 1 which was viewed only on occasion.
